Golden Globes Claire Danes, Emma Stone, and Nicole Kidman Show Simple Elegance (Photo Links)

Sometimes less really is more as shown during last night's 2011 Golden Globes Awards by Claire Danes, Emma Stone and Nicole Kidman who wore simple but stunning gowns. Proving that classic does not mean flashy, sexy or trashy, overdone or underdone, but just right smack in a class of its own, Danes, Stone and Kidman wore gowns that may have been glanced over at first, but then quickly induced second, third and more looks just moments later.

Claire Danes (who won Best Actress for her role in Temple Grandin) wore a neon silk halter Calvin Klein gown, carrying a gold box from Klein, and sporting Roger Vivier sandals with Fred Leighton jewels. Her look was simply crisp and classy, while still managing to carry the stunning affect.

Emma Stone was very much like Danes in that her peach-colored Calvin Klein with an open back gown was simplistic and classic in nature. Stone was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture/Comedy along with Angelina Jolie, Anna Hathaway, Julianne Moore, but it was Annette Benning who walked with that award.

Stone also sported Van Cleef & Arpels jewels along with Ferragamo peep-toes.

Finally, Nicole Kidman wore a cream one-shoulder Prada gown and although not as simple as Danes and Stone's gowns, (Kidman's was adorned in sequins), Nicole simply carried off the elegant and clean look of a classic style.

Kidman wore Fred Leighton jewels along with Roger Vivier sandals.
