Golden Globes Worst Dressed Nominees that Disappoint and Please

Of Wardrobe Malfunctions and Snippy Commenters

The beautiful people descended on Hollywood for the 66thGolden Globes awards that were handed out last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. After perusing available footage with the devotion one might afford a Wim Wenders epic, the picks for the Golden Globes worst dressed are complete.

Fox News votes Miley Cyrus as a "bust" for her use of a Marchesa gown which supposedly made her look too mature. With all due respect to Fox News, Hannah Montana star Mileyis 16 and did not exactly look like a streetwalker - which appears to be the getup of choice for many others her age. Did she look mature? She sure did -- in a good way! Should she make the list of the Golden Globes worst dressed 2009? No!

Lauding Angelina Jolie in her Atelier Versace gown as one of the Golden Globes best dressed, Fox News failed to point out Brad Pitt's somewhat disheveled look. Sure, Brad was turned out nicely in a tux and crisp white shirt, but whatever happened to his face? The beard looks more like a 16 year old's first attempt at growing whiskers, while the glasses are perhaps a bit over the top. Is Brangelina losing their touch?

Fox News and this reviewer agree that Jennifer Lopez was indeed a "bust;" well, that and a back, sides, and a whole lot more. A walking wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen, Jennifer Lopez is a study in gorgeousness and a ringing endorsement why less is not always more and thus a contender for the Golden Globes worst dressed.

Maybe it was just me, but it did appear as though the bust lines were extremely low this year, and what the skirts made up for in length, the bust lines took away. It propelled some stars into the dangerous territory of being one sneeze away from paparazzi camera flash fire. Probably the biggest bust exposure risk would have been Beyonce in her Elie Saab outfit. On the other side of the equation was Demi Moore in a Dior gown which left little room for criticism.

I ACTUALLY screamed when I saw Maggie Gyllenhall's dress. It was like someone took some really ugly fabric from the 70s and just made an off-the-shoulder TENT dress out of it. Totally heinous.
