Golf Club Review: Magique Blue Steel Fairway Woods

MikeBabjak
With the M400 driver I reviewed in a previous post, I also wanted to take a minute to review its little brother. The Magique Blue Steel Fairway Wood.

Much like the driver, this fairway wood looks like a classic from address. It's clean square club-head matches the blue color of the M400 driver and performs just as well. I was unable to hit the range with it before I put it in play and let me tell you, I was very, very surprised at its performance. I was able to reach a few long par 5's with it that I have never been able to reach before, and was able to work the ball very easily with it on some short, tight par 4's.

The Blue Steel Fairway Woods incorporate a very low profile which will not only make the ball easy to get airborne from the tee and fairway, but it will also help to cut through the rough. The lower center of gravity in the head simply launches the new golf balls into the air and they seem to fly forever!

The face of the golf club feels very soft, almost like the classic persimmon heads when struck. This feeling surprises almost every golfer that has hit my 3 wood. They wonder how something that feels this soft goes so far! Like the M400 driver, the face is square which not only looks good from the address position, but makes it very easy to work the ball however the player would like.

I have hit this club from almost every lie imaginable and it performs perfectly time after time. The fact that I know what this club is going to do each time I take it out of the bag has knocked a few strokes off my game while playing the par 5's and short par 4's.

The Blue Steel Fairway Wood comes in 15*, 19*, 23* and 27*. The stock shafts are by UST and grip by Lamkin. Like everything at Magique golf however, there are many custom shafts and grips available. You can even contact them directly to do a over the phone fitting to make sure you are getting the right club in your hands the first time, every time.

I have gained so much confidence in this fairway wood that I cant imagine taking it out of the bag for anything! Unless you can find me a club that will swing itself!
