Golf Club Review: The Nickent 4DX Draw Spec Driver

MikeBabjak
Nickent Golf has is slowly getting into more and more golfers bags each season. It all started with their great hybrids and is now translating into some very good drivers, fairway woods and irons as well. Their growth in the game is a welcome site being that their equipment is usually only ¾ the price of the big name manufacturers and their performance in my opinion is just as good, if not better in some cases. They are even now going to the interchangeable shaft technology to keep up with the rest of the OEM's. Nickent Golf is on the right track!

The Nickent 4DX Draw Spec driver is designed for the better player who likes a classic look, large head, but needs a little help getting the ball to stop slicing into the rough.. Like the Tour version, t features a very light driver head at 180 grams, and is maxed out to the 460cc limit. The Beta Titanium face and crown make this club very lightweight, yet also very forgiving and long. This allows the engineers to move weight around to the perimeter of the club to offer a driver that is not only long, but very explosive as well. Nickent calls their perimeter weighting XW, and in the draw version, puts more weight towards the heel of the club to help turn the face over at impact.

The driver itself at address looks great! It looks like a clean classic head and is not overly bulky for its size. The black head looks great and the draw setup shows with a slightly closed look at address. The ball does what the club says, DRAW! It really jumps off the face and begins a nice little hook to the left. I had a few golfers who slice the ball try it next to me and it straightened them out quite a bit! The ball wanted to take off very high, due to its internal weighting, but for who its designed for, it does everything it needs to help people get the ball back in the fairway! Like the rest of their drivers, the shaft is a little long for me at 45.5", especially since this is designed to help straighten drivers out for an average player! It should be shorter by about an inch.

Overall, this is a great looking club that performs well at a great price. The average player will not only be hitting more fairways, but due to the extra carry you get out of this club, more distance as well. You can pick them up online at around $260 and for the average player, saving money is a huge thing over spending $399 on another brands driver. I think if Nickent can get this club into more people's hands they will fall in love with it and put one in their bag!
