Golf Clubs Can Be Deadly Weapons: Why is Elin Nordegren Labeled a Victim

Ms. Marie
Is Tiger Woods another man abused by a woman who did not report it? Tiger Woods is a man, celebrity, icon, father, and husband with a secret life - that does not give Mrs. Elin Nordegren Woods a free pass to attack someone with a deadly weapon, yes, an iron golf club can be deadly.

Men cheat all the time, and the reasoning is as wild as their choices. Anyone in a relationship should know that it is a possibility, let's face it humans are not perfect, and women cheat too.

Just because a person marries you that does not guarantee that they will be true to their vows.

Loving and trusting another human being is a choice, and anytime we choose to take that chance we are in fact putting our hearts and feelings on the line; loving and trusting someone may cause you emotional pain because people do let you down. However, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

A cheaters behavior does not determine who you are it reflects their character and morals. Yet, woman who are insecure take it personal and become outraged because they feel humiliated, embarrassed, and betrayed; which sometimes leads to uncontrollable anger. This is more likely than not what happened with Mrs. Tiger Woods, her feelings were hurt, and she became emotionally out of control.

Adults who have no control over their anger are grieving something they believe was theirs, whether it be respect, loyalty, or tangible possessions. Tiger Woods is wrong if he is making excuses for Elin Nordegren abusing him because he is not letting her take responsibility for her inability to deal with anger.

Abuse is about control, and if Elin had an immature way of expressing her sense of being betrayed by Tiger Woods then she needs to own up to her actions. What if she had hit Tiger in the face with the golf club? What would have happened if the accident resulted in Tiger Woods death? Would the authorities have investigated and treated the incident differently?

Tiger's comment about his wife "acting courageously" has made her some kind of hero. He opened the door for the media to portray her as the victim - if she committed domestic violence she victimized Tiger Woods, and those two innocent children they have together.

Where were the kids while the arguing was going on? Who was with the kids while their mother was chasing after Tiger? If he left first does that means Elin Nordegren left her children alone in the house to chase or "check on" a man that she had just learned cheated on her? Why didn't she call 911? If it turns out someone was, which it probably will, in the house with the kids why wasn't that person questioned? Too many unanswered questions.

Many people feel that she, Elin Nordegren, should have been charged. TMZ even reported that Tiger Woods told a friend shortly after the incident that she [Elin Nordegren Woods] did scratch his face up, and when he left the house Elin Nordegren followed him with a golf club. Where is the law and justice for battered men? Why hasn't this information been investigated? What message does this send to women who abuse men?

How many women? Is Elin wearing her wedding ring? Why is she pumping gas herself? Will she divorce Tiger Woods? Does Tiger woods have a sex addiction? Was Tiger drinking? What is going to happen with the pre-nup? What was in the moving trucks? The media is having a field day, but the focus is on everything that can be categorized as gossip. Tiger Woods cheated on his wife, we get that.

Is Tiger Woods another man abused by a woman who did not report it? That is one question that needs to be addressed. Will a domestic abuse investigation be done? And more importantly, if Nordegren committed a crime will she be charged, and ordered to go to anger management?

The only sensible thing that has been reported lately is the fact that children's services finally made a visit; what took them so long.

Although, Chris Brown was wrong at least Brown told the truth about Rhianna hitting him first, and this was taken into consideration by the courts. Chris Brown took responsibility for his actions, but did not feel so guilty or ashamed that he lied about being abused by a woman.

Tiger Woods needs to come out of hiding and speak up. Lying for his wife obviously isn't going to save his marriage, but telling the truth could help a lot of men that are being abused by women.

Yes, it is true violence against men by women is a serious problem. Elin is getting all the pity because Tiger cheated, but that does not justify ABUSE.

Society needs to open its eyes to the fact that women make up about 55% of DV victims...And men make up about 45% of DV victims.

We need to eliminate the stigma attached to male victims. This will help build awareness, educate society, and enable men to come forward without the public shaming of men that is so common in todays popular culture and the media.

This will help us address the issue of violence against men, which is the same scope as violence aganst women (though you never hear a word about it) yet there are task forces set up to address violence against women but nothing for men.

We have told men for a long time that it is not OK to hit women, but we have never told women that it is not OK to hit men. That message needs to be sent, and if Elin Nordegren is sent away to jail for a long time, that message will be loud and clear since the world is watching.

If you are fleeing someone who is trying to hit you with a golf club and you crash into a tree, is it still considered reckless driving?

Tiger took the high road when his wife started to hit and abuse him. He took off in his car (perhaps bleeding and in shock). He did not hit her back (though he had every right to) since then HE would have been charged with domestic violence.

That is the problem with out justice system. A man is the victim of DV and if he runs and crashes his car he gets charged, if he defends himself andf hits back he gets charged. She could have done both and people would instantly assume she was the victim of DV, but if the victim is a man, society assumes HE did something wrong (reckless driving, deserves a beating for being with outher women). We can't blame the victim here. No matter what Tiger woods did his wife had no right to strike him (especially with a golf club).

She should be charged with DV and sent to jail for a long time to send a messag

Yeah, a man bleeding from the mouth, yet no blood in the SUV? Tiger is not doing anyone, not even himself, any good if he is hiding the facts...

There are far too many very reasonable questions about this nightmare story that remain unanswered. Why no blood test given to the police? If Tiger was assaulted he needs to tell the truth. Who is handling this man? They have done everything wrong so far.
