Gleneagles International Golf Course is located at McLaren Park in San Francisco, in the Excelsior neighborhood near the border of Daly City. They advertise a "hard core players' course" that consists of nine regulation length holes with eighteen different tee boxes. Monday through Thursday nine holes are $16 and eighteen holes are $24. Weekends and holidays the price ups to $19.50 and $31.50 respectively. Motorized carts are $20-28, pull carts $5-$9. Tee times may be reserved up to one week in advance. They have a combination golf shop and bar on site. Expect an unforgiving course, some of the lower prices in the area, and decent prices on sandwiches and drinks.

The Presidio Golf Course is located at 300 Finley Road. They're open seven days a week and you can schedule tee times up to a month in advance. Bookings one to seven days in advance are free, beyond that there are small fees, and cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance. The course is 18 holes and normal rates are $69 for Monday through Thursday, $85 for Friday and $99 weekends if you wish to use a motorized carts. Discounts are available for not using a cart and fees are nearly halved if you play after 3:00 in the afternoon. Regular players can join a "player's club" for $39 per year that gets you even further discounts. There is a cafe on site that offers diner food and drinks. They also have a driving range at $13 for a full bucket of balls.

The Harding Park Golf Course, at 99 Harding Road, is located just behind the Stonestown Galleria mall near San Francisco State University. On site you'll find a nine hole course, practice putting area and all-season practice area. Rates are a little steeper here at $105 Monday through Thursday and $125 on weekends. After 5 p.m. is $45 and $55 respectively, however. If you are a San Francisco city resident you can get a "resident's card" which apparently offers steep discounts of about 50%.

The Golden Gate Park Golf Course is entirely walk-up and first come, first served. No reservations taken. Adult green fees are only $14 for weekdays and $19 for weekends. If you have a resident card the discounts are even steeper at $10 for weekdays and $13 for weekends. Clubs can also be rented for $8 and carts for $4. There is a driving range on site which offers 75 balls for $6. They've got BBQ and beers on site for refreshments.

The Olympic Club Golf Course is a private downtown club that requires pretty much being loaded, knowing some rich people to vouch for you, and still waiting months to years on a waiting list to play at. Most of you reading this should probably just forget about it.

The Lincoln Park Golf Course is at 300 34th Avenue, out in the Outer Richmond. The website says that you have to apply for membership to play but apparently you don't. Expect to pay about $15-20, with discounts with a resident's card. Cheap drinks at the bar on site.
