Golf Shoes Are an Important Part of Any Golf Game

Overlooked Golf Shoes Can Cost You Strokes

Probably the most often overlooked piece of golf equipment is not found in you bag, but rather on you. While you may choose your golf shoes based on looks, you should be choosing them for an entirely different reason. Gold shoes are probably the most important piece of golf equipment you own because your golf shoes are what will determine if you will be "stuck" to the ground as you should be while you swing or if you will be slipping all over the place like you were on a frozen lake.

When you feel yourself starting to slip up, the first thing you should do is examine your golf shoes. Even if you are slipping in the slightest little bit your entire golf swing will be thrown off and nothing but missed shots and added strokes can come of that. But just because your shoes are starting to slip just a bit, doesn't necessarily mean it is time for a new pair.

Fist you need to clean the bottoms off really well. A lot of golfers will finish a round of golf and neglect to clean off the bottom of their shoes. This neglect allows dirt and grass to get caught up in the spikes, creating less grip and reeking havoc on your game. If your shoes are clean inspect the spikes. Most golf shoes made these days come with soft spikes that can easily and cheaply be replaced. If all else fails then maybe you do need new golf shoes.

If new shoes are what you need, consult a pro, namely the golf pro at your local golf course. They should be able to advise you on a good brand of golf shoes that will meat your specific needs. Just keep in mind that you probably don't want to buy your new golf shoes from the pro shop because the selection is usually limited and also very expensive.

A good place to look when you are ready to purchase is right online. By doing so you can comparative shop for the golf shoes of your choice. Look for things like free shipping when making your decision and make sure that the shoes you want are not on back order.

As much as you may not want to confront it, one of the easiest ways to improve your golf game is not by going out and buying that $500 putter, but by making a simple investment of time and money into making sure your golf shoes are up to par. If they aren't, you and your golf score will simply begin to slip-slide away.

Shoes are such an important part of any game - and the most important game of all - life. When I have on a comfortable pair of shoes, I feel lighter, younger and more energetic. How important to feel as we all get older! ; ) Great work here.
