Just because the economy is bad and your personal money situation is not in the best of health there is no reason why you should let your golf game suffer. If you let your golf game suffer you will suffer also. Your golf game is one of the few best ways to relieve tension and stress. It helps you stay competitive and focused. Even though you might not be able to go to the golf course as often as you like there are still ways to improve your game and your mental health. Right now, you are playing about your average game, no insight here. But if you quit playing the game you can go only backwards in your abilities. It is true that you must practice to improve your game but if you don't practice you lose the game you have.

Just because there is no money in your wallet doesn't mean you shouldn't practice. You can always hit the golf ball in some area around your home. You can use your yard, a park, a field even your garage to work on your short game. If you can't use a good solid golf ball then use a whiffle golf ball. There is no reason why you cannot improve your game even when you are not on the golf course.

When you cannot go outside then practice your putting. There is nothing stopping you from putting into a cup. Although it is a better idea to get one of those putting machines for $20 and have the ball return to you. But whatever you do it doesn't matter. You need to practice your putting.

Golf is a mental game. In fact, your golf score is about 50% mental and 50% skill. If you are out there practicing then your attitude toward the game will continue to be a good one and with that your game will not lose it's edge even in this bad economy.

Your golf game can be a life saver. Heck, that is even a good reason to find a way to earn some extra cash and go play the game. Golf even though we are never completely satisfied with our game does help us release stress. Hitting the ball and walking the links, yes walking, will do more for your mental health than you can imagine.

But what if you can't afford to go out on the links? Then there is one more suggestion, play a round of golf on the computer or game machine. As long as you are in the game real or simulated the benefits of the game are real. You might even invite your friends over for a good competitive game. This will improve you well being.

So even though the economy is bad your golf game doesn't have to be. Practice hitting the ball when you can and play whenever you can. As long as you are playing the game in some form you will improve.
