When planning any type of party you need to first set the date for the party and then work on the invitation list. Once you have the guest list you can move on to the fun part of choosing the perfect invitation. You can do simple invitations on up to expensive. If you would rather do it easy you can buy already made golf theme party invitations at your local party store. Another idea is to make your own invitations on the computer. This is very easy to do. You can purchase golf theme paper and find golf clip art on the computer. You can print them up and fold them and use regular sized business envelopes to mail. You can also make them smaller to fit into a card size envelope. Put a golf sticker on the outside and your ready to mail! Quick idea: in the invitation tell your guests to wear their favorite golf attire to the party.
When planning your party you will need to decide where to have the party. It is a good idea to keep in consideration who your guests will be when deciding on a location. Some ideas on where to have your party could be a country club, driving range or even at your own home. If you have the party at the country club you could incorporate a round of golf during the party.
Decorations are a key element in setting up a memorable and fun party. You can have decorations that are simple or decorations that are elaborate. You can choose what works best for your party guest and of course your own budget. If you plan on having the party at a country club then decorations will probably be minimal, unless you plan on renting the whole club house. In that case, then elaborate decorations would work very well.
Check out your local party store for some golf theme decorations that you can incorporate into your party. To go along with the party store variations I like to think outside the box when it comes to decorating. Try using what you already have that fits the golf theme. Some centerpiece ideas you can use on tables are putting golf balls inside a vace with some greenery around it. How about buying a golf theme picture frame and placing a picture of the guest of honor on the table? Just about anything with a golf theme that you have in your house can be used as a decoration. If you have a coffee mug with a golf theme you can use that to hold nuts or mints on the food table.
Considering where you hold your golf party can determine what you serve on the menu. For example, if you do have your party at the club house you might have burgers served if it is a mid morning to early afternoon party. You could have a full dinner served for a party that is later in the evening. If you have it at your home you can do an outdoor bbq. How about making some homemade ice cream to go with it? Some other great menu ideas could be tacos, hoagies, and some meat and veggie trays.
Game ideas for your party could be the round of golf, that was mentioned earlier, or even putt putt golf for smaller guests. Another take on an idea that I have done on several other type of parties is "count the tees." Put golf tees in a jar and have everyone guess the number of tees. I have done this several times using several things. It is always fun to guess.
Party favors for your guest are always a nice personal touch to add to your party. It is a great way to show your appreciation to your guests. Some budget friendly ideas could be personalized gifts such as golf balls and a nice golf towel. For a more elaborate party favor you could purchase a round of golf for each guest. (I did say elaborate!)
One more tidbit of advice for you. On the day of the actual party try to relax and enjoy yourself. This has been a hard one for me to learn, but I think I am finally learning it. Try to do as much as you can the days before the party. Don't be afraid to get your closest friends to help you too. Most people are more than happy to help and even bring something to the party.
