You've just been accepted to Gonzaga University in Spokane! Now, where to live on campus and what to do on campus is another matter entirely. The majority of freshmen and sophomores live on campus for 1 or 2 years, depending on how many credits they have. Where you live on campus can affect the rest of your college life, and this is no light matter. I'll go ahead and divulge what dorms you should hang out in, and where you should live. Here's the basic rundown on lowerclassmen dorms: most of them are worthless except for a select few. The two you should look at will be Desmet if you're a guy looking at an all male dorm, Welch if you're a girl looking for all female dorm, and Catherine/Monica (CM for short) if you are a girl or a guy looking at coed dorms. Why these specific dorms? Desmet basically is the frat house for Gonzaga, since brotherhood is a major force in this men-only dorm. Welch is right across the quad from Desmet, so both dorms do activities together. CM has a friendly rivalry with both dorms, and the majority of freshmen live in CM. For upperclassmen, the apartment dorms (or even better, off-campus living) are all good. Most of them have been built within the last seven or eight years, so the apartments are in better condition than most housing in or around Gonzaga.

Now that you live on campus, what can you do on campus? Crosby Center, which houses the student union and a museum dedicated to Bing Crosby among other things, is like the living room of Gonzaga. Everyone comes here to hang out and do some studying, and the café is a good place to pick coffee up before heading to class. Mulligan field, which is near the COG (the cafeteria and bookstore) and CM, is always a great place to play sports such as football or ultimate Frisbee. In fact, many of the fields in and around Gonzaga are great places for random games of soccer or practicing intramural activities. Intramural sports are great way to hang out and meet new people, and GSBA (the student activity board for GU) is always thinking of new activities such as movie night or paintball sessions for students to participate in. Since the school is based on a religious service belief, there are also community projects such as Habitat for Humanity. A wide variety of clubs exists on campus, each with their own activities. So in fact, there is a lot to do on campus!
