Each tea bag is individually wrapped. Just smelling the wrapper after opening the first tea bag I was hooked. It smelled sweet and fruity. I was looking forward to the taste. I decided instead of steeping for as long as I normally do, which is not ever taking out the tea bag. I decided to go by the directions and steep it for just the maximum time recommended, which is 4 minutes. The one thing I love is the inspirational quotes on each tea tag attached to the string on the tea bag. I always make sure to read them and look forward to reading them each time.
I tried half of the Good Earth Pomegranate Superfruit tea without a sweetener and the last half with the herbal sweetener stevia. I really enjoyed the full bodied fruity tea flavor without the sweetener. It is mildly tart when not sweetened and the tartness went away when I sweetened it. After I added stevia it got even better. It fulfilled my sweet tooth. The taste with stevia made it taste like a sweet juice but you could still taste a nice hint of tea flavor. I really enjoyed it.
This tea is naturally caffeinated because of the green tea in it. Although as the chart on the box shows it has a lot less than traditional black teas and a lot less than coffee. It shows green tea at about 30 mg. One of the unique things about this tea are the antioxidants. Well, antioxidants are not unique to tea as they are naturally in it but Good Earth Pomegranate Superfruit tea has an added mix of antioxidants. According to the box, studies have shown that antioxidants work better when combined with other antioxidants. So this tea has a combination of green tea, pomegranate and cherry antioxidants.
This tea is richer in flavor than similar teas I have tried and I enjoyed it. I recommend it to tea lovers and anyone wanting to add some extra antioxidants into their diet.
