Good Enough?

Donna Cavanagh
Sometimes no matter what we do
It is never quite good enough
We never make it to the top of the mountain
We are forever the diamond in the rough

Is it best to concede the fight
And go on in a new direction?
Not giving up - just maybe a new dream
A clean slate; no quest for perfection?

How nice it would be to pull up stakes
And leave the critics behind
would it bring happiness to a torn heart
and would it ease a troubled mind?

Maybe in times when self-doubt rules
It's best to dig in our heels and stay
Remind ourselves of the risks we took
And face the fears that push us away

Maybe in that moment of uncertainty
We realize giving up comes at a deadly cost
If we hold out, hope will again find the heart
And our dreams come home; no longer lost

It doen't matter whether folks think you are good enough. It only matters that you believe you ARE good enough! As always Donna, inspirational!

Wonderful! Whenever I get down, I try to remember that tomorrow is a new day and my shitty predicament is never my worst- and only time will make the hard stuff fade to miniscule memory
