Good Friday Coloring Pages and Printables for Kids

10 Websites that Offer Free Resources

Shannon Lausch
Need coloring pages and activities for your kids or students this Good Friday? A whole host of resources await you. Of course, some websites are better than others. Here is a list of ten websites that offer free Good Friday coloring pages and printables, along with their pros and cons.

1. Apples 4 the Teacher

Apples 4 the Teacher has a variety of religious coloring pages, including some on Good Friday. You have the option of either printing the pages or coloring them online using Macromedia Flash Player. If you'd prefer to print them, just click on the printer icon labeled "Full Page Print" located above the picture. The pictures are well drawn, yet simple.

2. Color Me Good

Color Me Good dedicates an entire section to Good Friday, making it one of the easiest coloring sites to navigate and find relevant coloring pages. They offer six PDF pictures; however, a few of them look nearly identical. The quality isn't extraordinary, but it's better than some websites.

3. Coloring Planet

Coloring Planet offers a wide selection of Easter-theme pictures, including a few Good Friday ones. The coloring pages are simple, but are of high-quality. They also load quickly as PDFs in your Web browser. If you prefer something more religious, they also have an entire section dedicated to religion.

4. Coloring Book Fun

Coloring Book Fun also offers coloring pages for Christian holidays; however, it's a bit disorganized. There are a few Good Friday pages, but they're grainy-looking compared to Coloring Planet and Apples 4 the Teacher. Some of them are simply poor scans. For the non-discerning, however, they're functional.

5. Super Coloring

Super Coloring lists eighteen coloring pages for Good Friday. While the site does offer a convenient Good Friday section, some of the coloring pages are duplicates (or quite close). The quality varies between images; some are quite detailed, while others are a little grainy.

6. Shirley's Preschool Activities

If you're looking for religious-themed coloring pages, Shirley's Preschool Activities is a great resource. For Easter, you have your choice of sixteen PDF coloring pages, with a few related to Good Friday. The quality of the pictures, however, could be better, as they are noticeably pixilated (but better than Coloring Book Fun).

7. ABC Teach

While ABC Teach does not offer Good Friday coloring pages, the website does have some great printables. Children can learn about Good Friday while improving their reading comprehension. The printable includes a brief explanation of Easter and a quiz featuring a timeline, true or false questions, and a fill-in-the-blank section.

8. Catholic Mom

Catholic Mom gives a brief, child-friendly explanation of what Good Friday means. The coloring page choices are slim (only three pictures). But if you don't want the hassle of Adobe reader, these pictures are very accessible.

9. Papa Jan

Papa Jan has a wide range of coloring pages for Easter and the Bible. Only a couple of coloring pages pertain to Good Friday, but if you're looking for more general pictures, then Papa Jan is a good choice. Picture quality is fair.

10. Tools for Educators

You can also design your own Good Friday printables! Tools for Educators lets you create printable crosswords, word searches, word banks, bingo makers, maze makers and more. It's under the broader theme of Easter, but as you're the designer, you can make it all about Good Friday.

  • Why it's called Good Friday isn't exactly known.
  • Other names for Good Friday include Great Friday, Holy Friday, or Black Friday.
  • Those observing Good Friday may fast or refrain from eating meat (some make an exception for fish)
