Good Friday Poem

A Day Set Aside to Remember

AnnaB
A day of remembrance set aside.
A day we remember the love that did from Heaven stride.

In open humility, a love so great, with a depth that overcomes the greatest tide.
Our Savior, lifted above sinful men, paid the wages of our pride.

Some perhaps will fast and remember His anguish, and His pain.
Other's perhaps will pray and meditate, accepting His finished work, rejoicing to know they've Heaven to gain.

Good Friday, it is a day we've set aside.
It is also a good day, to pray for another, a good day to set aside our pride.

Setting aside pride, we need to remember that though saved we may be.
Not everyone's even heard His name, therefore we must be a witness that other's too may one day walk free.

The door that leads to peace, that leads to freedom, it is only one.
However my dear friend, if we lift our head in pride, ignoring the sufferings all around us, how then will ever another soul be won?

My dear Christian, we are only passing through this world, it is truly not our home.
However, my dear Christian, we've a responsibility to tell, to show, to lead, that other's may come to know our Saviour, that they need never the depths of Hell roam.

Good Friday, it is a day set aside for remembrance it is true.
But my dear Christian friend, it should also be the day to pray that another will turn from a life that will lead to an eternity of torment and rue -- .
