Good Hairstyles for a Heart-Shaped Face

Monica Bullock
A heart-shaped face is wide at the temples and gets narrower at the chin. The chin may be round or even pointy looking. Get the most flattering hairstyle for your face shape and stay on top of hair trends. Remember to avoid choosing shag styles that look thick at the top. A thick shaggy top will look uneven on this type of face. Good hairstyles for a heart-shaped face sweep forward and may have wispy bangs.

Measure Your Face

If you are not sure if your face has this shape measure it. Measure across your cheekbones, then measure across your jaw line. Measure across your forehead then from your hairline to your chin. If your face is narrowest at the jaw line and widest at the forehead or cheekbones then you have a heart-shaped face.

Bobbed Hair

Go for a razor cut bob that reaches your chin. Wear your bob parted on the side or in the middle. Keep the thickest part of your bob at the back of your head. An elegant slanted bob with exaggerated sides is especially terrific looking on a heart-shaped face.

Wavy Hair

Get a wavy hair look with multiple layers that flow naturally. The best hair length for heart-shaped faces is a medium length but any hair length will do if you choose a layered cut. A soft wavy look will give your lips and cheeks some flattering attention. Keep curls medium to large, not too tight. Tight curls will make your hair look to heavy.

Framed Look

Choose this straight hairstyle to give your face a pretty frame. Ask your beautician to frame your face with slanted bangs and side locks that soften this face. Wear a framed look parted to either side. Exaggerate the part a little and some lift at the back of the head. Use a flat iron to fold the hair toward your face neatly. Do not use a curling iron or use waves for this look. Keep your hair smooth and shiny.

Accentuate your heart-shaped face with a hair look that is easy to wear and shows off your unique face shape.
