Good Hospital Jobs

Acquiring a good hospital job and gainful hospital employment usually requires some sort of training. Many people who have never worked in a medical job seem to believe that health care jobs pay well and are not very stressful. Certainly many health care jobs require years of schooling and experience before you can make a good living. I have singled out three hospital jobs that from my experience I consider to be good. After many years of working in a hospital, I have worked in most departments and I have known hospital employees in almost every hospital profession that you can think of.

In my experience I believe that good hospital jobs are the jobs that pay the most for the least education, have some sort of upwardly mobile path and do not not deal with bodily substances. If you know what I mean. Several jobs come to mind. X-Ray Technician, Registered Nurses and Biomedical technician. X-Ray Technicians make pretty good money for the amount of schooling they are required to have. X-Ray Technician training differs in length from one to four years and you can earn a certificate, an Associate degree or a Bachelor's degree. It meets my criteria because you can start out with a certificate and work you way up to a degree. Most times you will not be working with bodily substances and X-Ray Technicians can make around 50 to $60,000 per year. Their profession is interesting and challenging. Yes you will get exposed to radiation. Possibly a bit more than you would normally other places in the hospital.

While many may believe that Registered Nurses work with bodily fluids everyday, this is not always the case. They are able to work in a variety of services make great money and have a excellent chance for advancement. Based on Bureau of Labor statistics the average annual earnings of an RN was around $56.880 in 2006. If you are not concerned about working with bodily fluids Nurse Anethesists averaged $134,820 per year. Becoming an RN can be a very wise career decision.

Biomedical Technicians test, and repair medical equipment and instruments their average annual salary is around $40,000 a year. I have known Biomedical technicians that do very well. There is potential for advancement and continued education. If you enjoy repairing and tinkering with machines becoming a Biomedical Technician may be for you. The three health care jobs that I mentioned were always on the top of my list and are well worth looking into if you are considering working in a hospital.
