Good Luck Chuck Movie Review

"He has to break his curse, before she breaks his heart."

Good Luck Chuck is the story of a man who turns out to be a good luck charm for women. In his early years Chuck has a bad experience with a woman and a hex is put on him, which he does not take seriously at the time.

When Chuck is all grown up he realizes that the hex is real. The hex says that any woman who makes love to him will marry the next man that they date.

This is all well and good for Chuck for a while, as he has as many dates as he can handle, but one day he finds the girl of his dreams and he is scared that if anything happens between them, he will lose her forever.

Chuck and his best friend then try to find a way to make this girl his forever.

Chuck has some laughs hear and there but it is not as funny as one would have expected a movie with Dane Cook to be. This is not totally unexpected nor is it necessarily a bad thing since this is more of a romantic movie than one might realize.

Some aspects of this movie were much different than expected. There is more nudity than one would expect from a movie such as this one, most of it coming in the office of Chuck's best friend, who happens to be a plastic surgeon, and there is also more swearing than one would expect, but I did not know this movie was rated R at the time watched it.

This movie is certainly not for children.

Overall Good Luck Chuck is worth a watch if you have a spare hour and a half, but it is not a film that is worth running out right now and grabbing. Chuck can fill an empty evening, but don't expect too much from it. It is a romantic comedy much in the line of 50 First Dates.

Good Luck Chuck stars Dane Cook and Jessica Alba.

The movie is rated R and lasts for 96 minutes.
