Rod Marinelli won't be back as head coach with the Detroit Lions next year, that's a given. Mr. Marinelli has taken quite a bit of abuse this year, a lot of that is to be expected, but the comment made by Detroit News sports beat writer Rob Parker about whether Marinelli wished his daughter had married "a better defensive coordinator," went over the line.
It just goes to show how brutal football can be off the field. What kind of person would do this? Nice job Rob, kick the coach while he's down. Rod Marinelli handled that comment with class, and he's conducted himself with class during his entire stay here. I wish him all the best in his endeavors after the Lions.

I think Rod will do well as defensive line coach for the Bears. I don't think the talent was there in the Lions organization for anyone to do well as coach.
Well said Guy, keep on writing!
