Good Reasons to Preserve Your MySpace Profile

MySpace took a nosedive after FaceBook took the internet by storm. That doesn't mean that you MySpace profile doesn't add any value to the internet. There are some good points to be made for preserving your MySpace profile. MySpace was once the number one social networking site. It may appear that the site is going under, but the truth is, you never know if it could turn around.

Good Reasons to Preserve your MySpace Profile:

History- MySpace is a part of internet history, much like Geocities was before it's demise. Geocities is all but gone and never forgotten in the hearts of those who made their first web pages on that site. Someone had the foresight to try to save some of those pages and they are a smashing hit with old users. MySpace will be much the same way. If the site goes down the tubes, people will still want to preserve what they saw as part of the history. People shared their lives on these pages and it is like a time capsule for future generations to see where this type of social networking started.

Turn Around- MySpace could possibly make a turn around and get back on top of the game. If they do and you have preserved your MySpace account, you won't have to be like millions of other people who will have to get new accounts and start from scratch. You may need to make a few updates, but that is about all you will have to worry about. Everyone else will have to start from scratch.

Photos, Videos and Blogs- If you were on MySpace at anytime, chances are you posted several pictures, maybe some videos and a blog or two. If you haven't saved this information, you will lose it all if you don't preserve your MySpace Pages. Some people upload pictures, videos and other media and then don't keep them anywhere else. If that is the case, you are better off if you preserve your MySpace account until you can at least get this information off of it.

Non-Converts- There are some people that never left MySpace. They have stuck it out to the end and continue using MySpace even though there are very few people left there. If you have friends on MySpace that have refused to join FaceBook, you may want to keep your MySpace account just to keep up with them. They may never change unless forced to by the closure of MySpace. That hasn't happened yet though so it could well be they were right to stay all along.

Although there are very few people left at MySpace as compared to the number of people that used to be there, there are good reason to preserve your profile there. Don't give up on it just yet. If you have kept your profile this long, there is no harm in keeping it a little bit longer to see if the site gets up and running again.
