Just as there are many bad reasons for quitting a job, there are also numerous good reasons for quitting a job as well. Advancement of an individual's career is among the best reasons for an individual quitting a job, yet there are many more positive reasons for quitting a job as well. Whether it be an increase in pay, or to simply be employed into a better working environment, quitting a job can be a good decision.

Though your employer may have provided an individual with the skills needed to do the job, they may have only been a stepping stone in an individual's career, and may have also enhanced the individual's skills enabling the individual to move on in their career to a higher paying more prestigious position. Most employers are understanding when it comes to an individual leaving their company to advance their career, and some will even try to persuade the individual to stay with their company by offering them either an increase in salary, a promotion, or both.

Sexual harassment is said to be prohibited by employees in many companies, yet numerous companies fail to follow up on sexual harassment complaints, therefore allowing sexual harassment to take place. If an individual has taken the proper steps to report being sexually harassed by a fellow employee, it is not only a good reason to terminate their employment, it is also a legal matter, and should be brought to the attention of an individual's local court system. No one should have to continue to be sexually harassed when the proper authorities of a company have been informed of the situation.

Though most employers who employ full time workers offer health insurance, many companies still do not, which causes many people to seek employment from another company that does offer insurance. In other cases, a company may offer health insurance, yet the premiums are so expensive that the individual can not afford to pay them. Health insurance is a major necessity in many individual's lives due to the increasing costs associated with health care.

For many individuals the single most determining factor of quitting a job, is to gain employment in a higher paying job, whether it actually advances their career or not. With the rising debt of many individuals, they simply have to make more money in order to be able to pay all of their bills. An individual could go from one fast food restaurant to another, not because of career advancement, but simply to earn more money.

Although I have only given you a few key examples, there are literally thousands of good reasons that an individual may have for quitting a job. In many cases, individuals must weigh the advantages and disadvantages of leaving their job no matter what their reasoning is behind it.
