Good Summer Jobs for Teachers

Zoe
Are you a teacher looking for a summer job, and not sure where to find one? If you are, you've come to the right place. In this article I've listed five suggestions for summer teaching opportunities.

Camp Counselor

If you were a camp counselor you would still be able to do what you love, work with kids; and if you like spending time outdoors, this job will be even better for you. Many organizations, like the Boys & Girls Club and the YMCA, are looking for teachers to fulfill counselor positions at their summer camps. These organizations are located all across the country.

Online Job

If you do not want to leave your home, then you can definitely take an online job. Some of these jobs include writing articles, filling out surveys, and reading e-mails. There are also many freelance jobs available that you could fulfill. I personally do this, and I make a good amount of money from it.

Tutoring or Summer School

If you really love to teach, and can't stand to be away from the teaching environment, you should consider being a tutor or teaching at summer school. Tutoring would only require that you work few hours a day, and it can be very informal. You can ever tutor online. If you want to work for an organization like Sylvan or Kaplan, you may be qualified for their tutoring positions, which pay fairly well.

Hold Your Own Class

If you have a Masters, you could hold your own class at your local community college. This pays very well and you would only have to work few hours a day, excluding Fridays and the weekend.

Work Abroad

There are many opportunities for teachers to work abroad, teaching English. This is a great way to experience a new culture and possibly even learn a new language.
