Goodbye August-Hello September

Jean Davis
Summer is quickly making way for Autumn.
Soon there will be a chill in the air.
The trees are getting ready to change their attire
to red, orange and yellow, radiating a golden glow everywhere.
There are many things to enjoy about Autumn.
No charge at all.They're free.
See the squirrell as he hides his food?
How does he remember where he hid it?
Under which tree?
Not to worry. He will not go hungry. He'll know just where to look.
He has a built-in GPS, retracing every step he took.
The field is dotted orange with pumpkins in plenty of time for Thanksgiving pie.
Oh yes, and there is nothing more beautiful than the blue Autumn sky.
I do believe the September sky is a deeper, brighter blue.
Also, be sure to look to the west as the sun sets with a fiery scarlette hue.
We would welcome a long Indian Summer.
Some days we'd like time to stand still.
We need to just stop and enjoy the sights, like a million black-eyed susans
swaying on the side of a hill.
Don't let your life get too busy to enjoy these things.
It seems in the blink of an eye they're gone.
Don't ever be discouraged or sad, though, all is well as God is still on His throne
