Wild and wicked seemed those days then,
Gentle, demur and necessary now.
We are of those times made.
Recalling, at various times fondly,
Sadly, and with mirth
Those deeds are not the stuff
That alters the course of history,
Only stuff, without which, each life
Is denied a worthwhile future.
A long time will pass without 'Bon jour'
But not without the promise to return,
In some form or another
To renew yet another future.
Gentle, demur and necessary now.
We are of those times made.
Recalling, at various times fondly,
Sadly, and with mirth
Those deeds are not the stuff
That alters the course of history,
Only stuff, without which, each life
Is denied a worthwhile future.
A long time will pass without 'Bon jour'
But not without the promise to return,
In some form or another
To renew yet another future.
