Goodbye Summer

Oh summer sunshine where did you go?
I wake up early to find darkness outside,
Get ready for work and off I go.
Still darkness all around and no sun to guide (me).

Oh summer where did you go?
The day is over before I know.
The light is sinking way down low.
The sunlight fades as the sun sets aglow.

Oh summer where did you go?
The air is chilly.
A sign of Fall, I know.
And the kittens are so frisky.

Oh summer where did you go?
Now the love bugs have been swept in.
Ants and mosquitoes we are glad to see go.
So many love bugs, they must be all kin.

Oh summer where did you go?
Evening thunderstorms with pouring rain.
And beautiful rainbows up in the sky glow.
Kids running around driving me insane.

Oh summer where did you go?
Birds chirping and singing a song.
Long days of summer going by so slow.
The children love to play all day long.

I miss those warm and sunny days.
And now the wind just wants to blow.
I want those nice sunshine rays.

I really don't want to be cold.
Although I won't miss the grass to mow.
I'l have to suck it up and be bold.
