This wizard of electronic ambient music was born on the Baltic Coast of Northern Germany in the small town of Kiel, a town known for its Naval Base and fishing. Ulrich Schnauss now makes his home in Berlin. "Goodbye" is Schnauss' third album. Schnauss says that he sees each album as moving forward.

While he is an electronic ambient artist what sets Schnauss apart from other New Age artists is that some of his pieces include lyrics. In Schnauss' music the lyrics are almost like another instrument.

Schnauss is exact in his work recording up to 100 times on a song until he gets the sound he is seeking. As a result "Goodbye" was three years in the making. The music of Ulrich Schnauss flows like a babbling brook traveling lazily down the stream bed. But he can also be very complex with his music and it cannot be dissected, only enjoyed. It is easy to get so enthralled and wrapped up in Schnauss' music that if feels like a cool shower on a hot summer day.

The music of Ulrich Schnauss is very much like what you might notice on the Weather Channel or the background music for a slide show like when NASA is showing off its latest Hubble photo spread. But Ulrich Schnauss brings this music to the forefront where it can no longer be ignored, but appreciated and enjoyed.
