GoodNites Underwear and Huggies Pull-Ups: Product Comparison

As a parent of a child who hasn't yet achieved the milestone of consistently dry nights, I have bought many different kinds of nighttime wetness-protection products through the years, including Huggies Pull-Ups and, most recently, GoodNites Underwear. Below is a product comparison which outlines why I've made the switch to GoodNites Underwear.

Sizing: GoodNites are better for older kids

If your child is any larger than a 5T, you will want to make the switch to GoodNites Underwear. GoodNites Small-Medium size is for kids who weigh 38-65 pounds. If your child weighs in at the lower end of that weight range, you can probably get by with Pull-Ups for overnight use. In the store, GoodNites and Pull-Ups are priced about the same; however, there are a few more diapers in the Pull-Ups package, which makes it a better deal if you average out the cost per diaper. In my child's case, the GoodNites fit much more snugly and I haven't had a single overflow incident since making the switch.

Designs: Huggies Pull-Ups have your child's favorite character

Huggies Pull-Ups are designed for toddlers, so having their favorite Disney characters on the diapers is something that appeals to them. GoodNites do not have Disney character designs, but are available in generic boy or girl designs, such as motorcycles for boys and flowers for girls.

Absorption: GoodNites Underwear are very absorbent

Since I made the switch to GoodNites Underwear, my child has not experienced a leaking accident. The Pull-Ups would sometimes bunch up at night and my child would experience leaking from the side, which has a velcro type of closure. The GoodNites are very absorbent, and for the boy's size that I purchase, the absorbency is concentrated right in the front where it is needed most. When I used Pull-Ups for overnight protection for my child, even though they were his size, he still had leaks several times a month.

Self-Esteem: GoodNites Underwear help foster more self-esteem for child

Though not as thin as traditional underwear, GoodNites are more like underwear than Pull-Ups. For this reason, using GoodNites helps to foster self-esteem in your child. Pull-Ups are for younger children, but underwear are for big kids. For us, it was all in the name. Our child felt very proud to have graduated to night time underwear. As a result, we have found him more likely to get up at night to use the bathroom because he knows you don't go in your underwear.
