Goodwill in Grover Beach California: A Review

Goodwill in Grover Beach is located at 1628 W Grand Ave California 93433-2900. It is located in a parking lot with other businesses. I went here while I was on vacation in close by Morro Bay California (about twenty five minutes' away give or take a few minutes) in late March/early April 2010.

Goodwill may be a chain thrift store but they're all different. Not only in the merchandise that they sell (which is donated by local people and businesses) but how it's set up inside and I've learned that Goodwill's even have different prices then ones in different cities.

Upon entering the store, you'll see the counter where you pay on the left hand side. There are also jewelry items, lotions and other small knickknacks at the counter. In the center when you walk in, there is an area that has items that have been donated from businesses (such as Target) that are still new.

The left hand side of the store has clothing. The back has several shelves of knickknacks, dishes, picture frames, bedding, etc. Stuff is mainly sorted by what kind of item it is. For example, the picture frames are all in one area. Small frames are in baskets so you can look through them easier.

The right hand of the store has some electronics, furniture, books and movies. I find their prices for hardcover books to be on the high side ($4 dollars and up) though if you find a new release it can be worth the price. The paperbacks are under a dollar each and if you buy six paperbacks you get a better deal (six paperbacks for a certain amount).

I am spoiled by the Goodwill's in my hometown. They all have carts and this Goodwill does not. Though they don't have a lot of room in the store, I think that it wouldn't hurt to have a couple of carts. This would be especially good for people with kids who have a hard time looking with their child in tow and could cut back on kids running around the store.

I bought some books for one of my kids, a couple of puzzles that were still wrapped in plastic, a memory book that was also still new, a picture frame and a couple of other cutesy items. Everything I bought had a great price so I would make it a point to stop here every time I am in the area.

Customer service was also pretty decent. I had no problems; they weren't rude or overly friendly. They got me in and out which is what I was going for.

Goodwill puts out donations every day so you might want to visit at least a couple of times a week if you live in the area or if you're on an extended vacation.
