Google buzz has been launched and it seems to be causing quite a stir among internet users. More so I guarantee the intense talks and thinking that facebook and twitter are currently undertaking. Because of it's email social media intertwine, Google buzz has so far amassed over 9 million posts and hundreds of thousands of members. In order to have Buzz you need to have a Google email account. That way Google will be able to get most of it's users to join Google Buzz, and that's in the millions.
Buzz is sought of like a twitter and facebook mix. It's a social media where members get to post comments or update their status. Like twitter, members get to see who's following them and who they are following. Buzz is set to take away a considerable amount of traffic from facebook and twitter. As your friends post comments and update their status Buzz, you would want to periodically check their status, just like twitter. If your friend has a Buzz and you don't have it, you will automatically get it so you'll be able to keep check of what your friend is doing. I don't think that Buzz is going to kill facebook because of the strong addiction that facebook members have for those applications like Farmville and poker. Google Buzz will have to come up with some game apps that are way cooler that those on facebook and I don't see that happening anytime soon. Facebook and twitter ahs done their home works and that's why they have millions of members today. To dethrone them would be a tall order.
Though Buzz might not be able to overtake facebook and twitte,r it is very well going to change the face of social media as it continues to evolve. Some security concerns were aired by internet users in their initial launching, but Google have since addressed these concerns. Let's hope that Buzz will be here to stay and that Google will continue to tweak it to the liking of users
