Google Celebrating the 57th Anniversary of the Barcode

Seth Luke
Today, October, 07, 09, 57 years ago, the bar code was invented, and Google is going to celebrate it.

Today, rather then having the "Google" logo on the top of the search bar, it has a picture of a barcode. When you click the barcode, it does a search for "bar code". Putting your mouse over the bar code well make a little text bubble pop-up and say "Invention of the bar code".

Google does change their logo for different holidays and events, but they never changed it for the invention of the bar code. They change their logo quite often, so expect more in the future.

There are many Easter eggs in Google. Just type "Easter egg" and click I'm feeling lucky in Google to see for yourself!
