Google "Christianity Is" and You Might Be Surprised at the Results

Why is There so Much Hatred Towards Christians Everywhere - Even on Google?

Michele Starkey
The first search result you will receive if you type, "Christianity is" into a Google Search Box in January 2010 will result in a formidable choice. I won't use the word here but it has to do with defecating animals.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ and that makes me a Christian. I do not say or take that title lightly, a God who loves me more than I love myself at times saved me through a sacrifice. I don't carry a banner or wear a headband because I choose to let people see the 'Jesus' that lives inside of me rather than cram it into their lives.

I do not believe that I am any more righteous or worthy than any other human being on this planet Earth - we are all sinners. That's why we needed a Savior and I chose Jesus.

Christianity is the only religion where the Deity died for us. Allah doesn't, Buddha didn't and I'm not sure I even understand the Scientology movement or their relationship to the Supreme Being. My 'Supreme Being' donned human skin, walked around with sinners and then died for them so that they could have eternal life with Him.

Just because I choose not to be Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish or a Scientologist doesn't give me the privilege of calling their religions or the people who follow them, full of you-know-what. My Christian belief prevents me from ever doing that.

So, when I Google, "Christianity is" and get the results - I am alarmed, I am angry but mostly, I am saddened that after 2,000 years - He is still intimidating people and His followers are being murdered, tortured and sought after the world over.

This morning, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where my husband was on business not long ago - several Christian churches were fire bombed. According to news reports this morning,

"The high court in Malaysia has ruled that the government contends making Allah synonymous with God may confuse Muslims and ultimately mislead them into converting to Christianity, a punishable offence in Malaysia despite a constitution that guarantees freedom of religion."

www.persecution.org reports that over 100 Christians were beaten and murdered in India last year. The NY Times reported today that six Christians in southern Egypt were killed in a drive-by shooting yesterday.

Why this hatred towards Christians anyway? If you ask me, it's all a bunch of, well... that word that they use to describe what they think Christianity is; that word that follows the "Christianity is" on the Google search list.

When I say "God Bless You" it is Jesus whom I am referring to. If that offends you, angers you or insults you - I apologize. To me, it is the greatest blessing I can offer to you from my humble heart.

The Word of God exposes what is in store for fake religious teachers.

In many instances, it has nothing to do with religious beliefs. It involves history. For example, invasions in "pagan" lands to rob their treasures and convert the inmates by torture. Crusades. Wars. Can you think of any war that had no roots whatsoever in religion? It often has little to do with beliefs.

His being so intimidating this many years later just shows he's the real thing :) I get upset too because he went through so much and some people just throw it away due to misconceptions or just not wanting it to get true. I didn't google it because I already have a headache and when someone deliberately puts down my Christ my head feels like it will explode. We have to pray that they find their way before it's too late and help when we can. I enjoyed this. It's the only article I've been able to read this morning with this killer migraine but I don't think I could have found a better one.

well written. A lot of people are not aware of the amount of Christians who are persecuted on a daily basis.

Christianity is not immune to charges that, in the past, it commited atrocities in the name of religion. Right now every major world conflict is over religion be it islam vs. everyone else, islam vs. islam, Protestant vs. Catholic in Ireland, etc. Religion should be a private matter between an individual and God, not something that intrudes into our governments and society.

Thank you for this pointed article. American Christians are so immune to persecution, and it is so rampant in other parts of the world.
