Internet Browsers

Everyone requires a good reliable web browser to view pages over the Internet. And the better the browser the easier, safer, and more secure the Internet surfing. The browser has a long history which date backs to early days on the Internet. The best known browser is Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser which entered the Internet back in 1995. Previously, Netscape was the favorite browser for the Internet surfer. Microsofts' wise decision to bundle Internet Explorer with Windows operating system is what eventually led to the browsers worldwide dominance on the Internet. Currently, Internet Explorer still reins supreme with about 60% of the browser market. Recently, a new browser, Google's Chrome, entered the competition in 2008. According to statistics Google's Chrome is now 3rd in popularity among top Internet Browsers. So, which is better, Internet Explorer 8 or Google's Chrome? I recently put them to the test.

Internet Browsers

Internet Explorer 8 - Eveyone is familiar with Internet Explorer. Until recently it was about the only browser that I used to surf on the Internet. I was already very aware of its slow browsing across the Internet compared to other web browsers. Although the new version is a vast improvement over Internet Explorer 7 which was very sluggish. The new updated version has better security and more features to customize. Internet Explorer 8 is faster than previous versions but all the new features might be kind of confusing to new users.

Google Chrome 6.0- The latest version of Google Chrome is impressive. It is not just an alternative to the Internet Explorer, it is a reliable browser and one of the fastest browsers around. Google Chrome Browses around the Internet at ligtning speed even with a dial up connection. Even the Beta version of Google Chrome was more impressive than Internet Explorer 8. Chrome has a simple single tab structure which is easy to learn and navigate. Has lots of settings that you can customize the way you wish. One of my favorite features is the tiny thumbnails it saves of all the pages that you've visited. Another feature I like is the automatic updating when new versions are available. And since it is part of Google many Google features are already integrated right into the browser.

Those looking for a fast and lighter weight browser that is very reliable should prefer Google Chrome. Those who are looking for a better version of Internet Explorer 7 should check out the Internet Explore 8, which is a big improvement in speed and security.
