Google Chrome: A Web Browser Review

I downloaded Google's Chrome web browser to see if it was better then Mozilla's Firefox or Microsoft's Internet Explorer. In the quest for the best web browser I am always looking for something better. I'd say Firefox has Chrome beaten for now, but Chrome has got some positive things going for it. One of the most positive things about Google Chrome is that it takes up less RAM to run than most other browsers and it is very sleek and stylish in design. It was made to surf Google with that is for sure.

Chrome is a lot like any other web browser with tabbed browsing and all the rendering features, but you also have to download a lot of plug-ins to get this browser to work which is a minus for Chrome. Chrome also has a weird interface that is different from the standard browsers. It definitely is in a class of its own, but has a lot of work to do. It definitely shows promise that is for sure. You can see where Google is going with this. In a tabs test, Mozilla's Firefox was able to keep open more tabs then Chrome. But Chrome was able to keep open more tabs then Internet Explorer. It has Internet Explorer beat hands down.

Not a lot of people are using Chrome are visiting my web page. Most of them are using either Firefox or Internet Explorer. This is surprising, as Google is the most visited page on the web, so you would figure more people would be using their web browser. Google heavily marketed Chrome when it first came out, it was all over the place with download links. This did get a good number of people to try it at first, but most actually did switch back to their default browser. Perhaps it was the drastic change in interface that Google Chrome has, that turned people back to their old browsers.

Google's Chrome web browser runs very fast, and it won't crash either. This alone makes it better then Internet Explorer. It may even be faster then Firefox, but it does crash more then Firefox if you have too many tabs open. I had over 50 tabs open when it crashed, so I can't really blame the poor Google Chrome web browser for crashing. I would recommend Google's Chrome browser only if you are looking for something different then Firefox, which I still think is the best browser out there right now.
