When Google made their recent change to the algorithm for writing content on-line, many writers who work in this field were warned that the ax was falling. It was interesting to see the reactions that obviously could create fear in many people that dislike change. Change is inevitable however, and working in a mind-set of no change is a sure way to kill your income and at least, stagnate it.
Still, other writers realized that good content would potentially float to the top and create a wave of change to the system. It did just that, and personally, I say, "hat's off" to Google for a long needed cleaning of their "house". It was needed. One example is this. Have you ever searched in Google for something and clicked on a link, just to find a page of garbage? I know that I have, and it really ticks me off when it happens. These are the people that were the worst in the old Google system. They had created whole sites just to get money from Google.
Google then created requirements for the "content". This was the creation of content farms or mills. People wrote for these sites in order to create quality content for profit. The good thing about those places was that most offered real information. That was a huge improvement to the Google search engine. Still, Google wanted to improve their search engine for the customer. The customer is the person that is searching for information. As a freelance writer, who writes partially for content, I wanted to applaud Google for this effort. It is always a good sign when a company is constantly striving to improve the customer's experience. That brings us up to date. Today, content farms have been weeded out. The good, the bad and the downright ugly, have been weeded for quality yet again. Google is still changing the search engine trends today.
Now What?
Well, now we have an opportunity for change. Change is inevitable. It was much needed, in my opinion; and it offers writers a chance to tap into a market that is an untapped market for writers. Google has areas that still have garbage at the top. Talk about a "call for content". It's time for the writers to get busy. Find those areas that still have garbage. Write quality work and submit it. Watch your writing float to the top and watch the revenue pour in.
Millionaires are made in times of change. I wrote about this back before all of this "change" to the economy began. I said that we are headed for a recession, or potentially even a depression because people want to spend what they don't have. In my house money is only spend when you have earned it and pay cash. That way, I belong to nobody. I can be truly free. When you owe money, you are not really free. You also don't own anything in reality. So, consider all of this as you look at out situation as writers for Google. Check out the untapped market for writers. Google and their content farm clean-up is over for now. Head out and make some money writers. Now that Google and their content farm change has happened, it's an untapped market for writers now. Millionaires are made when they find those areas that nobody else has considered, and fill it.

Post a CommentYour welcome. I have several clients that I write for as a "ghost" that are doing exactly this right now. They are making a profit on their web sites. It should trickle to us as well.
;)
I like your positive perspective on the change in Google. Good stuff! We all need a little inspiration to keep hit the keys and raising expectations of ourselves instead of looking outward and bemoaning the change. I'm glad I read this article. Thank-you!
Interesting, thanks Kitty!
Back again. This is well done. Nice work.
It's best to stay positive and move ahead rather than become despondent and give up.
