Google Makes Article Submission for Page Ranking Tougher for 2007
LSI Will Make it Harder to Get on the First Page
Google's new weapon is called Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI for short. Basically web crawling spiders are now looking for theme related phrases per page. For instance coffee is a keyword. Now the new software wants terms on the page related to coffee. Coffee mug, insulated coffee travel mug, coffee mug designs are related phrases that the new software will be looking for. Words have to be of a similar theme throughout the page. Boat, powerboat controls, and boat furniture are similar in theme. You're going to need more than just one keyword you're going to need several related phrases. These related phrases will get you better rankings in the search engines.
In case you aren't aware of the duplicate content penalty here is a little information to bring you up to speed. Google, Yahoo and MSN are the three largest search engines with Google being the largest. Search engine spiders crawl over the Internet looking and indexing content on websites. Search engine optimization (SEO) experts know that getting on the first page of the search engines is valuable. The more links that you get on your websites the better your page ranking. Duplicate content simply means that if you use an article on your website that is also being used by others word for word then there is a page ranking problem. Google and the others want original content and not copycats. If there are thousands of copies on the net of the exact same article someone is going to be penalized.
You can buy articles from vendors (PLR articles) that provide fresh content. There will be less copies of the same article splashed over the Internet. Still, someone is going to get a lesser ranking for that content. In essence you have to get your copy rewritten using LSI themed words so that it does not look the same to the web crawling spiders. That is going to take time and or money. If you don't have unique content you will suffer with lower page rank for your site. Even worse, your article will be sent to the supplemental pages, and never be seen. You need unique and different content to get recognized in 2007. Your website will be buried in the secondary file. Bottom line is that you will get lousy search engine rankings.
Writing many articles using cheap spinning programs just to get your content won't work like it used to . You are going to have to make the content more unique with keyword related phrases so that it will pass Google's LSI filters. More related phrases per page will be necessary to get better search engine rankings. Learn more about LSI if you want to stay ahead of the pack this year

Post a CommentUnfortunately LSI is lagging and keyword stuffed junk is still king on the Internet. It would be great if effective LSI algorithms came out so that writers could go back to writing and quality writing, rather than SEO would float to the top. SEO is the reason there is so much keyword crammed dreck all over the web. C'mon, where's that LSI they promised us?
Good article. I'm going to watch how it affects my work.
