The more you learn about Google, the more you may realize it is a lot like your sweet old Grandma, trying to take care of your every need! Upon investigating Google as more than just a search engine, I found that it gives out a lot of freebies!

First of all, Google is the Number 1 place to work, according to Forbes Top 100 places to work. It's kind of an after college oasis. On the Google campus one sees 'Googlers', or employees of Google, walking their dogs on leashes, riding their free electric scooters, playing out on the volleyball court, and signs showing the way to haircuts, dental clinics and car maintenance. I understand that the food is to die for. It is gourmet, ethnic, organic and most of it is FREE! It's easy to understand why Google gets 1,300 résumés a day!

Google Freebie Number 1.Using Google on the web as a free dictionary. Did you know you can type in the word define, with a colon after it and then a word or phrase you want the definition of and Google will give you a definition and then some? For example, type: define: free. Google will come up with organized definitions and source web pages for this word 'free' or any word you are researching. But remember to type in define:

Google Freebie Number 2.Using Google on the web as a calculator. Did you know if you have an equation you'd like answered Google will act as a calculator? Try it. Just type your equation with a question mark into the Google search box. For example: 6 * 9 = ? Google will give you the answer to your mathematical question.

Google Freebie Number 3.Using Google on the web to help with measurements. Ever have a recipe call for a tablespoon and all you have is a teaspoon? I know we are all supposed to know that one right? Well, I don't! I typed in how many teaspoons in a tablespoon and Google told me! Try it!

Google Freebie Number 4.Using Google on the web as a news resource. Google has a news archive to look up historical events. Click on Google News and type in an event you want to research. Google will give you articles on the subject without a lot of commercial hype. Let's suppose you want something about John Lennon when he died. You can choose timeline and your request will be listed via articles in chronological order. You can choose articles written in that era.

Google Freebie Number 5.Google will supply you with free Desktop Gadgets. A gadget is a cool interface that lives on your desktop giving you information like the temperature outside or the NFL scores. Also called Widgets by other companies. One cool thing about a Google Desktop Gadget is it has a spot where you can search your computer just like you would the web using Google. Gadgets education can be found at: http://desktop.google.com/index.html. You can also use Google Desktop Gadget Designer to make a Gadget that will appear on your desktop.

Google Freebie Number 6. You can advertise with Google. By now you've probably heard of adsense and adwords. These are ways to advertise using Google. Adwords is a free way you can get paid to put Google on your blog or website. For more info go to http://www.google.com/intl/en/ads/.

Google Freebie Number 7. Google offers email. Called Gmail, Google offers this free email with ever growing storage space to anyone who has a Google account. Which is also free.

Google Freebie Number 8. Google offers Google Pack Software. Go to the Google store and choose the Free Google Pac. Great fun and helpful software for your PC!

Well these are just a few of the present day freebies from Google. Google is a pioneer of the internet search engine world. It is growing daily if not by the minute and I am sure the free stuff will grow right along with it.

Just Google it and find out!
