The new edition of Abode Lightroom came out and Google Plus photographers spread the word. Hundreds of comments and shares of what Lightroom would do and why it was needed went all across the very popular group ranging from dabblers to world renown photographers.
In business it is said that word of mouth is the best form of sales, since fans are doing the selling. After looking at the profiles of the biggest promoters of the Adobe products, it was clear that Adobe was not involved.
But can this huge group make an impact on Adobe's bottom line? Will those comments and shares add money to the chest by gaining new users. At $299 a pop or $99 for an upgrade, one would hope so.
Here are some of the comments we found which seem to show that these photographers have the influence to help Adobe.
" Nice, installing now :-)"
"Thanks for heads up, downloading LR right now."
" ...as a relatively heavy shooter, it has changed my life! I still use Photoshop for about 5% of my images, but Lightroom imports, organizes, categorizes and sorts them lightening fast. The editing tools are quick, powerful and super impressive. It has sped up my workflow by at least 40%."
'You MUST upgrade. The noise reduction tech in LR3 is HUGE!"
"I'm already on 3 and love it. can't wait till they make their deals with google to allow me to upload directly. I know there is a plugin for it, but I don't like installing 3rd party plugins."
So, if Adobe Lightroom has this kind of feedback from the people who use it, and those people are willing to share that information, then Adobe stands to win. It's a case of the right product created for a specific purpose, used by the people who want and need it.
