On the 2010 Google I/O Conference in Moscone Center, San Francisco, Google introduced its "froyo" 2.2 Android operating system. The new Android 2.2 has many new tools and functions that are sure to enthrall Android's users. The cell phone market now has a great competitor that is ready for years of competition and possible domination.

When Google introduced Android 2.2, it placed speed on the first place. Google added Just-In-Time (JIT) to Android 2.2, allowing processing speed to increase by 2 to 5 times. Also, Android 2.2 now has more than 20 business functions. These new tools include Exchange support for new employees and equipment administrator API. Now it looks like Android already began to look in to the market in which Apple has already dominated for a long time. RIM will face significant challenge in the future.

The newly added Cloud-to-Device Messaging API allows users to push a variety of messages to the Android cell phone. A demonstration of pushing messages into Nexus One was shown. In addition, Android 2.2 now has the famous Tethering service. IPad now can use Android cell phone to go online with tethering. Google claims that Android 2.2's browser is the world's fastest mobile browser. Its Javascript functioning has improved by 2-3 times the original one. In the meantime, Google Map's positioning function can also be used in the browser. The new browser even has camera in its API. Lastly, Google has announced that the browser supports Flash and Air.

There are also new improvements to the Android 2.2 software store Market. For example, the App2SD is now unveiled to the world. Other new functions include automatic updating processing applications and reporting processing application bugs. However, the most significant improvement is Google's new software store web page. Users are now able to conveniently buy apps, songs, albums, etc through the desktop browser.

Lastly, using Simplify Media services, users can now put desktop songs into their Android cell phones...because Android now has iTunes! Moreover, Google introduced its advertising services on Android, the Adsense for Mobile Apps or ADFMA. ADFMA is similar to Apple's iAd in which it publishes different advertisements according to the relevant contents on the page.
