At the moment, Firefox is by far the most popular alternative browser to Internet Explorer. Firefox is much faster than Internet Explorer, has many more features, and is way more graphical. Firefox is also completely free, and will never cost you a dime. You're able to customize Firefox to just about any extent you want, and you can also add many features in Firefox that you could never even dream of in Internet Explorer. The addons and security features in comparison to Internet Explorer, as well as the speed, is extremely advantageous.
Now, what about the newest browser out there? Google's "Google Chrome" is definitely causing some uproar in the browser competition for users! Google Chrome is quite plain right now, and I assume that the browser will continue to be quite plain and somewhat featureless. The browser isn't completely featureless, but is far less customizable than Firefox.
What's really to be looked at, is that the objectives in each of these browsers is different. Firefox is made to be ultimately customizable, easy to use, and graphically enhanced. Of course Firefox is also extremely fast, but it's really about the features that keeps so many people using this awesome browser. What about Google Chrome? The features are much fewer, and the graphics aren't nearly as enhanced, but what's the objective? The makers of Google Chrome weren't interested in creating the most feature-packed browser out there, yet just about the opposite.
Google Chrome is meant to be extremely easy to use, simplistic, and fast. Google has stated that other browsers take up so much room with toolbars, buttons, and other features, that they're taking away from your Internet experience. Google Chrome is minimal, and meant to maximize your Internet viewing experience! While using this browser, you're going to see more of what you're actually trying to look at, due to the minimal use setup, and the speed! The browser is probably the fastest out there. SInce there are very few additional features installed with it, there isn't much holding it back from being the fastest processing browser out there.
Google Chrome is going to win the support of a few groups of people (for one, people who simply like to have the best, fastest possible Internet viewing speed, and don't mind giving up a few browser features for it). Also, people who enjoy the simplicity and don't need a complex browser are going to love this browser, along with the fact that it'll be faster and much easier to use than Internet Explorer!
All in all, it's about opinion. I prefer Firefox to this product, but there is much more news to come, Google Chrome is going to expand rapidly, as every Google product does! Try it out, compare it to other browsers! Check it out while it's still in Beta, and watch.. It may become the best one day!
