GOP Poster Child for Teenage Pregnancy: Bristol Palin, Daughter of Sarah Palin

Why the Republican Party May as Well Have Chosen Lynne Spears, Mother of Jamie Lynn & Britney Over Sarah Palin

Adrienne Jenkins
17-Year-Old Bristol Palin, Daughter of VP Nominee Sarah Palin, is 5 Months Pregnant: Tit for tat. Sarah Palin finds herself in the same predicament that Lynne Spears found herself in, as the high profile mother of a pregnant, unwed teenage seventeen year old daughter. Lynne Spears was roasted in the media and in the court of public opinion was deemed an unfit mother. Yet, the Republicans expect the same public who lambasted the mother of Britney Spears to somehow forgive teenager pregnancy in a vice presidential nominee? How is this about family values? So with all things being equal when it comes to baby bumps then what about Lynne Spears as a write-in candidate for vice presidential nominee.

Lynne Spears Has More Foreign Travel Experience Than Sarah Palin

Since Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin doesn't have any real foreign policy experience anyways, we don't have anything to compare. When you look at the fact that Sarah Palin only received a passport last year, you have to give this round to Lynne Spears. Britney Spears has toured worldwide so that gives Lynne Spears the advantage in terms of foreign travel experience.

Prior Work Experience Lynne Spears Vs. Sarah Palin

Who would be more educated and better equipped to run the country? Would you pick a former school teacher or a former sports caster? At least a school teacher would know a little something besides batting averages. Lynne Spears, a former school teacher gets resume points vs. Sarah Palin who graduated with a communications-journalism degree.

Closer Connection To Russia

Republicans are making the lame talking point that Alaska is somewhat near Russia so that is what substantiates Sarah Palin's limited foreign policy experience. But Mississippi has rivers and Russia has rivers therefore should we also make the leap of faith that Lynne Spears understands Russia as well?

Whose Career Stands The Greatest Opportunity To Be Resurrected?

Lynne Spears stands behind the scenes supporting Britney in her comeback effort and Jamie Lynn Spears in her role as a young mother and budding celebrity. Does Sarah Palin with her daughter Bristol stand an equal chance of resurrecting the tired Presidential campaign of McCain? In the end, who stands the better chance of weathering the next 4 years -- Britney or McCain. I put my chit on Britney.

Lynne Spears for V.P.

Ridiculous notion? Absolutely ludicrous. What the heck are you talking about? Utter nonsense. No more malarkey than picking a 44-year-old junior governor from Alaska with no foreign policy experience with a pregnant 17-year-old teenage daughter.

You know, John McCain defended Sarah but he NEVER SAID that she DOESN'T look like a SLUTTY FLIGHT ATTENDANT, did he? Also, I'm SURE that Bristol WOULD sleep with Alex Rodriguez, as would most of you.

Anyone have any update on if the marriage is still going to go through for Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston or if a wedding date has been set? According to various reports on the web, Bristol already has on her Facebook page Bristol Palin-Johnston.

I've tried to stay away from provoking political debates on AC, but actually...I'm sure it helps page views, regardless of what side you stand for! Ms. Jenkins, I'm aware that your article is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but you do make some excellent points about Sarah Palin and what she claims to stand for.

Good point, F Train. I think she had the support of her family knowing the possible consequences.

The person with the screen name Sarah Palin wrote: "The point isn't that my daughter made a choice that I'm trying to deny to every other woman, it's that my daughter made the right choice, and I want to help all other women be so moral by removing all the wrong choices from the equation for them. That's real government reform. " My response is that is not government reform. Government reform is granting federal funds to organizations that help troubled unwed pregnant teens cope with their emotions and emotional problems. But the typical republican response is all talk and no action! McCain voted against federal funding to help pregnant teens. McCain and Palin will not attempt to have the Supreme Court repeal Roe vs Wade. They are not pro-life. They are pro-status-quo.

If the Obamas had older children, and one were pregnant and unwed and a teenager, I suspect a lot of GOP folks would be on the blog comments using the n-word and writing up a lot of negative stereotypes about single moms, absent dads, and all that.

Fortunately, the Obamas are not like that at all. They seem to be very stable, responsible adults with children, who, we hope, will grow up well adjusted.

I don't believe in a woman who wants to force her life style choices on the rest of us. While she has the financial and social means to support a child with down syndrome, many others don't. By making abortion illegal, not only will she infringe upon women's rights, but also the rights of many families to pursue a normal life. Will she and McCain be footing the bill for the mental and physical care costs of those children born out of extreme circumstances? If they were to make abortion completely illegal, then they need to talk about creating a program that would directly deal with the social cost of such a decision. But they don't. There's been nothing but rhetoric coming out of them. McCain and Palin are ready to take America back into the dark ages. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS!

Gee . . . with everyone paying so much attention to this teenager . . . . is it time to bring out that navy blue GAP dress that Slick Willie liked so much? And how about those starlets in the Camelot era? Of course, those were actual politicians . . . not just kids of politicians . . . Hmmmm.....
