Made a blunder as big as a whale
Really all it took
Open mouth, insert foot
His campaign will now certainly fail
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown yesterday interviewed a woman while campaigning for the 6th May General Election, and having got back in his car made some surprising remarks about her, not realising that his microphone was still switched on.
Ever unpopular with the British public and highly expected to lose the coming election, this event has Gordon Brown now even more unpopular and it might lead to a major switch in voting from otherwise staunch Labour supporters.
See Gordon Brown fights to salvage his campaign after 'Bigot' blunder.

Uh oh
Great reporting!
Good one Tony!
Most of the time the apologies are because they get caught, not for what they say. Great limerick.
I saw the news clip and heard the questions the woman asked. Calling her a bigot was not only uncalled for it was not true. The news clip went on to say that Brown went to the woman's house to apologize. We didn't hear if she accepted the apology--I wouldn't have. I feel Brown was not apoligizing for what he said but only that he got caught saying it.
what did the woman say that he said she was a bigot?
Many people like that seem to have a tendency to open their mouth and insert their feet. lol
Too funny! He was not very smart to say what he said. Of course the person who left the mic on him wasn't smart either. Funny thing is they used this same plot in an "Army Wives" episode the other night. It was funny then because the witch with a B was overheard dissing the heroine. She got her just desserts. Who knows, Brown may too.
Funny!
