Gorton's Cajun Blackened Grilled Fish Fillets
A Review of Gorton's Cajun Blackened Grilled Fish Fillets
Preparing Gorton's Cajun Blackened Grilled Fish Fillets
You can cook these fish fillets in either a microwave or conventional oven. I used a conventional oven, which means preheating the oven to 400 degrees before placing the Cajun blackened grilled fish fillets on a cookie sheet and into the oven for 17 to 18 minutes.
The fish fillets can cook in a microwave on a microwave-safe plate for a span of 3-1/2 to 6 minutes on High. You should rotate the plate throughout the cooking process, being sure to keep your hands safe from the heat of the plate.
Flavor
I found the flavor of Gorton's Cajun Blackened Grilled Fish Fillets quite good. The flavor is smoky and definitely possesses that distinct Cajun flavor - but it's not as spicy as I would have imagined given a few earlier introductions to Cajun food. If you like mild to moderate heat, you'll definitely enjoy these fish fillets.
The fish, which is pollock, is moist, too. I'm not sure if it's because of the fact I didn't overcook the fish fillets or because the Cajun glaze on the fish was enough to sustain the moistness of the fish throughout the cooking process but, at any rate, the fish is wonderfully textured and easy to enjoy.
The one downside I found is that there were a few dark areas in my fish fillet, which was quite unlike the crisp white fish pictured on the front of the Gorton's box. Maybe I just had a rougher piece, though.
