Gospel Business Cards

Business cards are a great way to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in a non-intrusive way. Some Christians add a Bible verse or a Christian graphic to their business cards.

This is a terrific way to witness while advertising your business or service. That is not, however, what this article is about.

The Lord's Business

Today we are going to address the use of business-sized cards as tracts--business cards that are all about the Lord's business.

Tracts are those little pamphlets with a salvation message that we have all seen. Some read like comic books; others like a magazine article or short story. But the potential problem with tracts is that they may not be read all of the way through.

Compact & Convenient

Business sized cards are nice because they are so small that one can carry a greater quantity than would be possible with tracts.

Seeker Friendly

Many unsaved people will shy away from accepting a tract and are more comfortable with taking a business card. I have exchanged cards with a variety of people since I started this form of ministry. Whenever someone offers me their business card, I accept it and offer them one of the Gospel cards in exchange.

Will it Fit?

It is possible to get the gospel out without composing a five hundred word essay, short story, or comic strip.

The set of Gospel cards that I designed to hand out are very simple. Feel free to use my design. The front of the card reads, "Good News! 'While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.' Romans 5:8. See back for details."

On the reverse side of the card is this simple, Biblically based explanation of how to be saved:

Recognize that you are a sinner Rom. 3:23

Admit that you cannot save yourself. Titus 3:5

Believe that Jesus Christ came into the world and gave His life to save sinners. John 3:16

Repent of (turn from) your sins. Acts 2:38

Confess (tell) your sins to God. 1 John 1:9

Call upon Jesus Christ in sincere and earnest prayer. John 14:13

Contact Info

The card could contain your contact information, such as your email address or Christian website URL in case someone wants to ask further questions. Another option is to include your church's address and phone number. Or, you could simply add the website address of a favorite Christian site.

If you have made your own business cards before, it should be easy to print up some Gospel cards using your desktop publisher. If you have no experience with creating and printing business cards, there are many tutorials available on line. If money is not an issue, you could order a set from a reputable printer.

Business-sized cards are a convenient, friendly way to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
