Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford Get a Deal in Texas Marijuana Case
Clean Slate for Gossip Girl Star After Drug Possession Charges in 2010
Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford may have landed himself in serious trouble with the law in June 2010. Since then the situation has definitely taken took a turn for the better. In April 2011, Crawford received a reprieve from the drugs possession charges that he faced since last summer. The world of entertainment was left stunned last summer when Crawford was arrested after a spot check of the parked vehicle he and two other friends were in. Within the parked vehicle a police inspection confiscated marijuana and charged with Crawford with drugs possession.
Facing as much as 12 months in jail, the matter looked very bleak for the then 24 year old. Not one to be undone, within weeks of the bust Crawford was spotted out and about in London. Taking the legal matter in his stride, the Hollywood hunk turned his attention to promoting the high anticipated 'Twelve' flick directed by Joel Schumacher. Starring opposite rapper 50 cent, Crawford portrayed a darker side with his lead character 'White Mike," a drug dealer in New York City.
Crawford returned to the hottest character on TV Nate Archibald while waiting sentencing in the fall of 2010. By Christmas 2010, legal negations commenced leaving the actor literally in the balance. Noticeably missing from CW's Gossip Girl since February 2011, the 25 years hottie is rumored to be written out of the popular TV series which featured his character for a poignant season plot twist in April.
While fans of the talented young actor anticipate his return to Gossip Girl in the fall, Crawford is expected in Texas once a month to meet the criteria of a plea deal struck. for his drug possession case. Much to the actor's delight, the deal expunged his criminal record forever and offers him a clean slate. In addition to the expunged record, the hunky actor has been ordered to stay out of trouble for one year.
The deal appears to be the deal of a lifetime as the clean cut actor has taken this year to focus on his personal life. Except to see less of Crawford on Gossip Girl in the fall due to rumored film comments. He is expected to be heavily featured in 2012 as CW writers explore other storylines along side the very popular Nate character.
