Ehrhart pens her Maxx Maxwell mysteries in the first-person narrative so that the reader can experience first-hand what it's like to be in the middle of the action; to feel like they are inside Maxx's head, experiencing all the emotions and excitement that Maxx is feeling, and seeing exactly what Maxx is seeing. But Ehrhart's real talent lies in her descriptive prose which, not only sets the scene for Maxx's surroundings but are so filled with detail that the reader is immediately transported into every dangerous, suspenseful situation in which Maxx finds herself. With all the adrenaline pumping thrills of a high speed chase, Got No Friend Anyhow is a good old fashion mystery that will keep you entertained right to the end.

Peggy Ehrhart lives in Leonia, New Jersey and is a former college English professor. No stranger to the blues circuit, she plays guitar in a blues band called Still Standing in the New York Tri-State area, but it was her old band, The Last Stand Band, that inspired the Maxx Maxwell series.
