Gottex Spring 2010 Collection

Designer Swimwear at Its Best

Gottex went against the color palette for its spring line by incorporating brilliant white, stunning reds, imperial blues, golden yellows and metallic blacks. Precious metal tones of bronze, gold and silver accented the collection's sheer fabrics. The one complaint I do have about the collection is the use of embellishment. It seemed out of place on the swimsuits, almost as if they were an after thought, especially on the red and white suits. Overall the collection was fabulous, which made it hard to pick just a few pieces that I loved. Each mentioned design can be found on the Elle magazine website.

Gottex's canary yellow print asymmetrical swimsuit, found on slide 12, is simple in cut but elegant enough to be worn as a swimsuit or paired with a complimentary skirt or pair of slacks. This beauty was paired on the runway with a matching sheer wrap and head wrap. The gold and black bangles printed gold belt and gilded sandals completed the runway look.

This next swimwear ensemble caught my eye more for the wrap than the swimsuit. The swimsuit is a blue and white strapless print one-piece in a simple cut. The wrap is a sheer blue and white print with gradient color starting out white at the top and darkening to a crisp blue at the bottom. The wrap closes at the side waist and will flow behind you as you walk. This stunner can be found on slide 21.

Ring the alarm for Gottex's red hot two-piece found on slide 30. The wrapped styling of this fire red bikini has an Egyptian mummy wrap feel in the bodice. The bikini is lightly embellished with gilded stripes along the halter top of the bikini and the right side hip of the bikini bottom. This bikini can go from poolside to a night out by adding a wrap skirt in a matching red, black or white.

My favorite piece of the collection is found on slide 41. A black halter one-piece embellished with black flowers sewn following the curve of the neckline. This beautiful swimsuit comes with a sheer black and gold cape with a slightly ruffled hem. This swimsuit can transition to be night-ready if paired with black loose fitting slacks or a slim, black fluid ankle length skirt.

This is the best of Gottex spring 2010. Even though Gottex makes swimwear don't be limited by this. The best thing about this company is the versatility of their swimwear to go from the pool or beach to the street and sometimes red carpet by adding a complimentary bottom garment. So check out the entire Gottex spring 2010 collection and consider the possibilities.
