Gourmetrecipes.Com Gone Too Far?

It's been obvious for some time, even to the most casual observer, that sex sells anything. You can take a car, a toaster, a mixer, or anything else and if advertisers can make it sexy they can sell it. This is especially true in our post-sexual revolution world. But now there is a new viral youtube.com video going around the internet. This video makes every kitchen and sex comparison imaginable, all to promote a gourmet food site.
Gourmetrecipes.com is a part of the Gourmandia.com gourmet food franchise. The family if sites is rather pedantic they mostly offer videos of 3-5 star Michelin chefs cooking gourmet foods and recipes. The production qualities are, however, quite high and there is really nothing like it on the web. People can go and learn to cook some of the great dishes from some from some of the best chefs in the world and all from the comfort of their own home.

The whole video starts with a sexual premise. They have a very "yummy" looking guy getting ready to prepare a meal and he invites his female sidekick and "friend" (read: mistress or friend with benefits) to join him on stage. Every time he makes a cooking reference she does something sexual to him. He seems to be surprised at first but pretty soon has that frat boy look of, "I'm about to see boobies and get laid, OMG!!!!!" The sexual innuendos continue through the video including the ending where he makes the worst joke of all: a sausage joke.

Some of the funny moments are:

"Take off the outer covering."

The man in the video is referring to garlic but the lady tears off his apron in a great deal of bravado.

"Expose the muscles."
She takes off his shirt and he smiles with the asinine grin.

"Rub the meat vigorously with oil."
She opens a bottle of olive oil and there is a cut scene where he is standing in his tighty-whities covered in oil smiling.

"Now it's time to take out the sausage."

You should be able to predict where this is going. The sausage joke is the lamest of all kitchen jokes. She stands in front of him and then proceeds to get on her knees as if to begin to give him fellatio. He closes out the video with a very crass Jewish joke when he says:

"I hope you like Kosher" and smiles real big.
