Government Information Provided on the Web Including Child Passenger Safety

Government agencies have websites that provide a lot of information. We've already paid for it through our taxes, so why not take advantage of the information provided? For instance, I saw a public announcement about child booster seats. So I decided to visit the site and see what it's all about.

The announcement instructed to go to www.boosterseat.gov . Once I typed this into my web browser, I was redirected to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This site provides you with everything you ever wanted to know about Highway Safety and much much more.

If you need information about anything, I'm sure the government can provide it on one of their sites. They provide information from things like taxes to popular baby names. I did an article on, Popular Baby Names. This information is also provided by the government.

The information provided by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration) on booster seat safety gives you information on babies up to tweens (Is this a new term for preteens?) It tells you the government requirements and types of seating to be used based on a child's age and size. There is also information to show you how to make sure that your child's seating is installed correctly.

Did you know that there are local child safety seat inspection stations? On the NHTSA website you can navigate to the safety station inspection stations by putting in your zip code, and you will then receive a list of sites close by where you can go to make sure that your seat is attached in your vehicle properly. When I put my zip code in, the first place on the list, in my local area was the Richland County Coroner. That was kind of creepy. There were many other locations listed, thank goodness.
