Gowanus Gets Prop Shop

Brooklyn's Gowanus is about to get a really cool, really green new business.

A new non-profit store, the Film Biz Prop Shop, that actually recycles and reuses props from movies is coming to town. The shop also has plenty of other set decorations from films, television, and commercial productions. Currently, the shop is located in Long Island City but plans to move to Gowanus by the beginning of December.

Though much of its inventory is donated to other organizations, other items are sold to independent film productions or hipsters looking for some really cool stuff. The shop also rents out its inventory. A wide selection of antique, vintage, furniture, oddities, art, and other décor can be found at the Prop Shop.

The new location in Gowanus is planned for 540 President Street between 3^rd and 4^th.
