Grace of Honor: Memorial to Unknown Protectors

This Poem is How I Celebrate Memorial Day as I Honor Others

Annamarie
As I visit my family graves I also cry for protectors I never knew
Silently they kept us safe; the unnamed; we have no clue.
My tears are for them; the unknown, the unacknowledged.

Those for thousands of years you died for our safety and freedoms.
Our neighbors; police officers, firefighters, good Samaritans, volunteers that
help all us all their life for free, soldiers of all of our armed forces,
passer-bys, and postal workers.

Millions of unmarked graves throughout our world
Humans who died doing the right thing no matter the pain.
Unborn babies, animals who gave their lives for humans and medical staffs.
in home care givers. and those who shared their smiles with us.

I never met you or shook your hands but feel in my heart I do know you.
You were the brave, the truth of humanity, and the grace of honor.
I shall always celebrate your life and death with a silent thank you.
