My husband and I faced a dilemma the first time we planned a shopping trip at a large local mall. It was our first shopping trip where we would not be able to transfer the car seat onto a shopping cart, so we stopped at a Babies R Us prepared to purchase a travel system. I was looking for the best deal I could find and due to the fact that the cheapest travel system I could find was about $200, I was getting pretty frustrated. We just don't have that kind of money to throw around. Fortunately, my husband discovered something I had over looked. Stroller frames!
The car seat I own was a Graco brand car seat, so I was extastic to discover that there are stroller frames that do the same thing as a travel system. The stroller frames are not a stroller without the car seat, but for the first year or so of your baby's life you will not need a front facing stroller. The Graco SnugRider Stroller Frame will fit any Graco brand car seat.
It has a basket underneath to store your diaper bag, shopping bag, jacket, or whatever you may need to store. (I always string the diaper bag over the push bar.) There is a tray on the push bar where you can hold a bottle and a pacifier or toy. You can not fit a soda bottle or beverage of yours (bigger than a smaller water bottle) into the bottle dish, but how important is that? Is it worth an extra $140?
I only paid $60 for this stroller frame, and just like that we had everything we needed to travel anywhere with our son, without disturbing him. As we made our way through the mall, I was nothing short of satisfied with this stroller. It is very lightweight and compact, it stores very easily in a trunk leaving room for groceries or shopping bags.
The Graco SnugRider Stroller Frame is also very easy to control when you are walking with it. It steers easily around corners. I have always been clueless when it comes to folding and unfolding strollers (ironically it is my husband who has to show me how to do it) but the Graco SnugRider Stroller Frame only took me 10 guesses before I figured out how to do it. (Unfolding it is very easy, it is folding it that takes a little guess work.)
In summary, why waste your money on a large, bulky travel system when you get all you need for only $60. If you own a Graco brand car seat, you will absolutely fall in love with the Graco SnugRider 6001BCL Stroller Frame!
